Keyboard Lesson

Keyboard Lesson

If you don’t want your fingers to get blisters – like when playing guitar – then why don’t you try the keyboard instead?

The Electronic Keyboard is very versatile because it is capable of synthesizing various instruments plus other sound effects. You can play piano, strings, synths, drums and more. In addition, you can even play with backing tracks. In effect, you can actually play more than one layer of music at once.

Our keyboard lesson is not geared towards classical piano playing, but more on contemporary pop playing. Reading sheet music is a standard lesson if you’re a beginner, because it is easier to map the keys. However, when you progress, you have the option of continuing sight reading or playing by ear.

Since you already have a foundation in sight reading, learning how to play by ear is another realm of art in music, but, it can be a bitter-sweet affair. Nevertheless, learning how to listen and play will make you a better musician because you will no longer be dependent to sheet music. The best part of our instruction is that you can learn sight reading and playing by ear, plus, transcribing what you hear. Now, you have the best arsenal at your disposal.

Another branch of our keyboard lesson is MIDI. MIDI has grown popularity because of its compatibility with the computer. If you are interested in recording music in your computer, the cheapest but most decent way is using your computer and some software. We will teach you on how to setup your keyboard, through MIDI, with some of the popular recording software and synths. If you wish to have a complete Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), we can assist you in purchasing and setting it up for a reasonable fee.
